Acton Burnell carp fishery owned by Rob Hales, is one of the most beautiful, exclusive and notorious carp fisheries in the country. Home of some proper lumps in magnificent surroundings.

I was lucky enough to spend two days on the Top Lake during May 2008 on a day ticket basis. The lake fished slowly but I managed to catch two special fish. Both personal bests and both caught off the surface. I believe the forty was, at the time, a record for the largest carp caught off the surface on the Top Lake.
